The equipment and technique we use to digitize your photographic material:
- The professional Nikon Coolscan 9000ED is used for all miniature and 120 film scans with a final result equal and larger than A4. The scanners have a rod dispersion LED light source and translated the original screened for 16-bit input values to a density of 4.8 and a maximum resolution of 4000dpi. The LED light source prevents the original source through the heats. For the miniature budget scans we use the Nikon Coolscan 5000ED with a slide feeder.
The quality of the Nikon Coolscan 9000ED is especially intense in older material, which is necessary to use the Digital ICE dust and scratch Professional option for reduction. Examples of the differences between the Coolscan 5000ED and Coolscan 9000ED found here.
- The in-house developed software to send the Coolscan. Together with the developed workflow manager gives us the best opportunity to get out of the scanners at a minimum of manual intervention to operate the scanners.
- For Coolscan 9000ED we have a law mounting unit. The results are thus directly comparable to get a scan of a drum scanner. Wet scanning for cultural heritage under the Preservation Imaging Guidelines Metamorfoze not allowed.
- For film sizes larger than the 120 roll film format we use the Epson V750 flatbed scanner in transparency mode. It is possible formats on glass slide or negative or acetate to 20x25cm (8x10 ") scanning. This includes material respects.
- Contrary to usual we scan color negatives is positive and then return the image using a database of characteristics to film. The properties of the film are thus optimally utilized and results in an optimal scan.
